  • Up and Coming Model Kiara Pace: This Bright Beauty Offers Us Lessons in Persistence and Progress, More

In September of 2012, we attended a swimsuit fashion show by designer Natalya Toporova [see here]. The invitation to that show came about in an interesting way. Sometime before the show took place, we had the opportunity to cover a performance by Grammy Award winner Mya, at the South Beach club Mokai [see here]. It was a great night. In fact, we had the opportunity to hang with Mya before and after her performance. Not only is she a great singer, she is a terrific person. That evening, Mya was wearing a particularly eye catching dress designed by Ms. Toporova. The design was so well done that we got in touch with her and that led to the invitation. At the swimsuit fashion show, one of the models we met was Kiara Pace. Fast forward from 2012 to 2014, Kiara decided that she wanted to take her modeling career from Miami to New York. After saving enough money, selling her car and finding an apartment, she took off for the Big Apple.

  • The State of Luxury Goods: Social Mayor of Miami, TV Star/Entrepreneur/Philanthropist/Novelist Lea Black and Luxury Goods Aficionado/YouTube Bad Boy as Archie Luxury Paul Pluta Give Us the Straight Skinny

Most people, it seems, like luxury goods. Perhaps it is because of their quality, aesthetics and durability. Or, maybe, it is because luxury goods serve as status symbols. Whatever the case, economic conditions impact people’s buying decisions when it comes to high end items. Too many individuals get caught up in rampant consumerism, no doubt. Insuring personal financial stability should come before acquiring luxurious yet unneeded items. At the same time, for people who work hard and are financially responsible, it is nice to buy something special once in a while. All of us need to find balance in our lives. This certainly applies to luxury goods. With tremors running through the world economy, we thought that it would be a good time to discuss the state of luxury goods. We decided to bring in a couple of experts to CYInterview to give their opinions on the state of consumers and luxury items.

Recently, in the NY Post, an article appeared mentioning the opening of a watch club for members only, catering to luminaries and moneyed types, in New York. Perhaps, we are at a turning point in the world of luxury goods. Maybe, in addition to buyers wanting something rare, they also want it sold to them in an ambience of ultra-exclusivity. To discuss what is taking place, we welcome back Paul Pluta, the man behind the controversial YouTube personality Archie Luxury. Mr. Pluta is a compelling commentator when it comes to the world of expensive watches and luxury goods. Paul Pluta is a true luxury goods devotee. Additionally, he is rather prolific, with what he says are thousands of videos on YouTube. Wizard of Watches, the Inimitable Paul Pluta is Back: Gives Insight on the Use of Wristwatches as Dating Gimmicks; Man Who Portrays YouTube Luxury Goods Bad Boy Archie Luxury Entertaining as Ever

In 2013, the NY Post ran an article titled Meet The Rolex Romeos. The story featured a variety of successful men trying to attract women’s attention with their luxury wristwatches. Those watches had prices starting from $10,000 and up. Back in April we first welcomed, to CYInterview, watch aficionado and luxury goods commentator Paul Pluta - the man from Australia behind the famous YouTube/Internet personality Archie Luxury [see here]. Paul is back to provide his analysis on this phenomenon and to answer the question if what a man wears on his wrist will attract women. Additionally, he discusses which watches, if any, appeal to females. You will have to listen to the audio to gain that insight. It most certainly makes for entertaining listening.

Luxury’s Jekyll and Hyde: Couth and Classy Paul Pluta Creates Crass and Cunning Archie Luxury, Runs YouTube Channel on Luxury Wristwatches, Other Luxury Items; Uses Irreverence to Attract Attention

Baselworld is a yearly trade show in Basel, Switzerland where a large number of the world’s watch companies come to show off their wares. Wristwatch enthusiasts - a group that appears to be growing in numbers, even with an uncertain world economy - come to this event, write about it and discuss it passionately online. With the ending of Baselworld 2015, we began to think of who we might bring onto CYInterview to discuss luxury wristwatches. To be sure, there are a good number of intelligent, knowledgeable and well-spoken wristwatch critics around, some who run excellent websites devoted to watches. There are also magazines dedicated to high end horology. But in this age of reality television and with a growing trend toward outlandish personalities developed and promoted via social media, we wanted more than someone with mere knowledge of watches. We were interested in bringing someone onto CYInterview who was, perhaps, controversial.

This is arguably the biggest week in the swimsuit world. Buyers, global media, models and fashion enthusiasts partake of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. Also known as Miami Swim Week, there are lots of other swimsuit events beyond Mercedes-Benz, taking place. This is also one of the busiest weekends of the year on South Beach. This year’s events are running from Thursday July 18th to Monday July 21st. Yesterday evening, we had a chance to attend Beach Bunny’s swimsuit show. Numerous models walked the catwalk, showing a set of original designs by Phillipe and David Blond. It was Beach Bunny’s 2015 spring collection presentation.
