Take a large bowl and vigorously mix the following ingredients: Emptiness, lust, loneliness, power, sadness, desire, money, intimacy, men, women, luxury goods, social media, technology, narcissism, voyeurism and the ongoing decline of Western Civilization and what do you get?
According to luxury goods guru and star of the Archie Luxury Channel on YouTube, Paul Pluta, a former IT professional, you get a new breed of guys and gals meeting up for the exchange of favors. You might call these people Dukes and Deluxtitutes.
As Pluta explains it, a Duke is a man, usually somewhat well heeled, who wants the company of a woman when he chooses – perhaps two to three times a month. He has no interest in seeing an escort, not because of any moral quandary, but because he does not want to shell out big money on short interludes. (Sometimes, a woman might be a Duchess – the female equivalent of a Duke – and the man could be the Deluxtitute, but that appears to be significantly less common.)
