    For an education in impersonations and comedy, you should start with the great Rich Little. His famous impersonations which include President Ronald Reagan, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Stewart and many others serve as a gold standard of sorts. Today, you can experience all of those impersonations and more at Rich Little’s Las Vegas show at the Tropicana Hotel. The show takes places five nights a week and begins at 7:00 PM. Additionally, you can read about great stories of his impersonations and the famous people in his life in his new book Little by Little: People I’ve Known and Been. Featured columnist Jay Bildstein joins us for an over 30 minute CYInterview with the show business legend. Mr. Little shares stories about President Reagan, Don Rickles, Jimmy Stewart, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Carson and numerous others.

    There are many places to celebrate New Year’s Eve. However, few compare to Las Vegas. Robin Leach, of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous fame, currently has a column and section on the Las Vegas Review Journal’s website, where he covers the city’s happenings. Focusing on New Year’s festivities in the Entertainment Capital of the World, Robin says the acts to see begin on December 30th. Some of those include Lady Gaga at the Wynn, Bruno Mars at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, Sting at The Cosmopolitan, Elton John at Caesars Palace, Lionel Richie at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and the Backstreet Boys at Caesars Palace, for a private party, among others.

    Known as the Green Fairy in the popular Las Vegas show Absinthe at Caesars Palace, Melody Sweets is a showgirl, singer, producer and can no doubt strike a pose. Absinthe is an acrobatic, cabaret variety show. Audiences witness many amazing feats performed by different artists. Aside from being in a long running Las Vegas production, Melody is also a producer of her own variety shows. Her latest is this Saturday night July 30th at midnight. It’s called Call of the Wild! Jungle Burlesque and will take place at the Absinthe Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace. Most of the proceeds from the evening’s event will benefit Las Vegas legends Siegfried and Roy’s Sarmoti Foundation. The charitable organization raises money to help protect endangered animals worldwide.

    If you wondered what became of the man who made the phrase "Champagne wishes and caviar dreams" famous, look no further than Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas, Nevada. There, you will find the man who made that saying famous, in the 80s and 90s on his television show, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Today, the veteran, celebrity media personality not only makes his home in Las Vegas, but he covers the extensive entertainment scene in that city, with his section in the Las Vegas Sun. We first spoke with Robin back in 2011, covering a variety of topics with him [see here]. Now, five years later, on May 26th, at The Palazzo Las Vegas’s Italian restaurant, Lavo, we caught up with the ever energetic media figure. Speaking with him, we were able to revisit some of the topics we spoke about in 2011 and then some.

    Las Vegas is fight central for the United States. Both boxing and mixed martial arts hold gigantic events there, throughout the calendar year. Art Davie, one of the men responsible for starting the UFC and bringing mixed martial arts to a wide audience, lives not far from Las Vegas in the city of Pahrump, Nevada. Mr. Davie, the author of Is This Legal? The Inside Story of the First UFC from the Man Who Created It is now working on the next part of his saga. After being inducted into the Legends of MMA Hall of Fame in 2014, Mr. Davie has been working hard on getting Is This Legal? turned into a movie. Last year, the UFC founder touched on the subject with us. [See our past CYInterviews with Art Davie here and here]. Aside from that, there is no denying that his work on behalf of mixed martial arts should earn him an induction into the Contributor’s Section of the UFC Hall of Fame. It is something he thinks will happen in the coming years.

    For his millions of fans, the death of multitalented music star Prince was a moment many did not expect. Prince passed away on April 21, 2016 at the age of 57. Musician Jason Tenner says he could not eat and barely slept for a few days after the Purple Rain singer’s passing. For over 15 years, Mr. Tenner has done his best to accurately represent Prince on stage. Now, he seeks to pay his respects to the now deceased artist, who so strongly impacted the music industry. On and off the Las Vegas Strip, Mr. Tenner has performed his Prince show titled Purple Reign, for more than a decade. The show comprises Jason Tenner as Prince, his band and various beautiful women. It certainly makes for a memorable evening. The show has a variety of Prince’s music, a few short humorous skits and a tribute that pays respect to the artist, now gone too soon. On the evening of Wednesday, May 25th, I attended Mr. Tenner’s Purple Reign Prince tribute show, which is now at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. The venue that evening was more than 95 percent full. Throughout the entire show, the performance received numerous standing ovations.

    Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, hosts all sorts of spectacles, acrobatics shows, music performances, magic performances, celebrity tribute shows, showgirls, tours to the Grand Canyon and many other things for the millions visiting the city yearly. However, if you are looking for a laugh and are not easily offended, comedian and actor Eddie Griffin puts on a hilarious show in The King’s Room at the Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel & Casino’s. I suspect it is unlike any comedy show you have ever experienced. Mr. Griffin’s show is a no holds barred commentary on a variety of social and political topics, as well as his life experiences. Some have called Eddie this generation’s Richard Pryor. It is a title he hopes to live up to every day. Speaking of the late Richard Pryor, Eddie has currently taken the late comedian’s son, Mason Pryor, under his wing. Mason is one of Mr. Griffin’s two opening acts. The young Pryor’s routine garnered laughs about sex and the financial challenges of being relatively new to the comedy game. The other opening act, comedian Thomas Ward, told jokes about Instagram models and his bad credit score, also to abundant laughs.

    A visit to the doctor’s office changed Donald Lemperle’s life. With over 30 years as a chef and now restaurant owner, he has cooked in some of the best eating establishments in New York and beyond. About nine years ago he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. It is a form of bone marrow cancer. After hearing the news, Chef Donald went in a new direction. He changed his entire diet by only eating things that are plant based. He also decided to change his work environment. In April of 2015, Chef Donald opened a vegan themed restaurant VegeNation in downtown Las Vegas. The healthy food establishment has received numerous accolades since opening. Last year, Las Vegas Weekly said it was the best vegan food in the entertainment capital of the world. It is one thing to change a diet to improve your health. It is another to completely immerse yourself in a plant based lifestyle as your profession. His story shows us how one experience can change your life for the better.

    Elvis Presley will always be known to the world as The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Few entertainers will ever reach his level of notoriety and accomplishment. Then there are the Elvis impersonators. Steve Connolly is arguably the most celebrated Elvis impersonator in the country. He has received numerous accolades and opportunities owing to his portrayal of the King, both in Las Vegas and across the country. See our photo with him above with an Elvis portrait he painted. As the only Elvis entertainer to ever have a show running daily in a Las Vegas Strip Casino, at Bally’s Las Vegas, and endorsements from the likes of former President Bill Clinton, Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler, current presidential candidate Donald Trump and even Elvis Presley’s conductor Bobby Morris, Mr. Connolly’s show, titled Spirit of the King, really does bring Elvis back to life. The show is currently at the Four Queens Hotel located in downtown Las Vegas, on Freemont Street. With over 5000 performances impersonating the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Mr. Connolly’s appearance, vocal range and impressions of Elvis are spot on. If you are not an Elvis fan before seeing his show, you will be one after.

    For more than two years, Claire Sinclair and her popular Pin Up Show have been one of the attractions on the Las Vegas Strip. You can see the 2011 Playboy Playmate of the Year perform in the lead role in Pin Up, at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. (See our photo with Ms. Sinclair above.) In 2014, the show was voted Best Showgirls by The Best of Las Vegas. If that were not enough, this year it was also given the honor of Best Adult Show.
