It has been reported that legendary sports broadcaster Pat Summerall has died. He was 82 years old. Many know Pat from his days in the broadcasting booth, calling NFL games with John Madden. But prior to his sports broadcasting career, he was a football player in the NFL back in the 50s and 60s. Playing for the New York Giants, Detroit Lions and Chicago Cardinals, he gained ample insight into a game he would then spend time calling for many years.
From Vince Lombardi to Mickey Mantle, Tom Landry to Howard Cosell and most of all John Madden, Mr. Summerall knew a who’s who of athletes and sports broadcasting greats.
